Online Therapy in Odessa, TX
Are you in search of accessible, effective therapy?
Yet, do responsibilities like work and childcare make it difficult for you to keep weekly in-person appointments?
Or do you have a condition, including mobility issues or social anxiety, that makes it difficult for you to commute?
Counseling is a deeply beneficial way to receive support, gain skills, and nurture growth—but so many people can’t make time for it. Between juggling work, parenting, and daily tasks, the prospect of therapy can be deeply overwhelming. Not to mention, some folks hold onto stigmas around therapy or have concerns about privacy.
Looking For Support From The Comfort Of Home?
At Balance Counseling, we aim to provide therapy services that are confidential, effective, and accessible. For this reason, our therapists offer counseling online for clients who want to reduce the hassle of a commute and receive support from the comfort of their homes.

Who Can Benefit From Teletherapy?
Our therapists support a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, parenting, life transitions, relationship challenges, and trauma-related issues. Taking a client-centered, trauma-informed approach with each client, we individualize counseling in a way that’s gentle while also getting to the root of the problem.
Therapy sessions are available to teens and adults in both an in-person and virtual format. Online therapy may be a preferred option for clients who:
Work, go to school, and/or have scheduling limitations that make it difficult to commit to weekly appointments
Lack consistent transportation
Live in more remote or inaccessible areas of West Texas and/or want to avoid a commute
Have conditions that impact mobility
Experience phobias or social anxiety that make meeting from home more comfortable
Teletherapy is equally safe and effective as in-person counseling. However, we do not recommend online therapy for children; in-person sessions are a much more effective format for creative interventions, Play Therapy, and other child-specific approaches.
Online Therapy Through Balance Counseling
Once you’re paired with your Balance therapist, you will complete a basic intake to go over your history, presenting concerns, and goals for therapy. From there, your therapist will individualize the counseling process, drawing in highly effective, trauma-informed methods to help you gain clarity, insights, and skills.
You are not alone in your pain and it’s possible to find solutions. While it can be isolating to go through challenging life hurdles, a therapist can make all the difference in your life. And once you see that healing and growth can be achieved from the comfort of home, you can feel less alone, more in control, and more capable of creating the life you want.
As a practice committed to affordable, accessible mental health support, we are passionate about reaching all of our communities across West Texas, which is why we offer our counseling services online.
What To Expect
Online counseling is done via a HIPAA-compliant platform that is specially made for therapists. All you need is a microphone- and camera-accessible device—like a phone, laptop, or tablet—with a stable internet connection. Client portals can be accessed via our Notes system, where appointment reminders and payments can be processed.
Common Concerns About Online Therapy…
Is online therapy effective?
Yes, online therapy is extremely effective for adult and teen clients. In fact, studies show that working with a therapist online is just as effective as participating in in-person sessions. [1]
That said, we do not recommend online treatment for children (12 and younger) or clients looking for creative interventions specifically. Modalities like Play Therapy and Art Therapy are much more impactful when done in person.
Will teletherapy sessions be private and confidential?
At Balance Counseling, your privacy is of the utmost concern. Whether sessions are conducted in-person or online, your confidentiality will always be honored.
For online sessions, we use a HIPAA-compliant platform that ensures your privacy. It’s just important to make sure you are participating in therapy from a safe, confidential place at home or at work.
Is online counseling covered by insurance?
While most insurance companies cover online and in-person therapy sessions in the same way, our practice does not take insurance.
If you have insurance with mental health benefits, you are welcome to submit a superbill to your provider to receive a partial or full reimbursement—though we cannot guarantee that sessions will be covered by insurance. Additionally, we offer sliding-scale options for clients who are concerned about the cost of treatment.
